Deep Tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on

 re-aligning the musculature system of the human body on a deeper level.


 It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains such as stiff neck and upper

and lower back pains, leg muscle tightness and spasm, and shoulders pains.


 The movement is slower and the pressure is deeper then Swedish massage and

concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach harmony and balance.


 Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down the tension of the

 whole body in order to relieve pain and restore normal movement.


 The massage therapist uses massage oil and applies deep pressure.


Muscles must be relaxed in order for the therapist to reach the

deeper musculature layer of the muscles.


 At certain areas there can be some discomfort and pain.


 It is important to tell the massage therapist when your muscles hurt and

if any soreness or pain you experience is starting to feel unbearable.


 There is usually some soreness or pain after a Deep Tissue massage,

but it should diminish within a day or so.


 Water helps to eliminate toxins from the body so it is important to drink

plenty of water after a Deep Tissue Massage to help the process of healing.
